Branding and graphics for the Norton Core by Symantec. The wifi router for the protected home.

Role

As a member of the Herbst Produkt team, I worked on the packaging, graphic design and branding of the Core. As Symantec's first foray into hardware we put great care into the unboxing experience.

Look and Feel

As an instantly recognized international brand, it was crucial to imbue Norton's existing design language to the packaging. However, being their first hardware product, we were able to help define how that translates to a hands-on experience.

Design

The Core derives its form from Buckminster Fuller's indelible Naval communications structures in the frozen tundra of Antarctica. We incorporated this research into the vector icons and layout of the user guide booklet.
